The variation that was agreed in the hallway

KoriI'm a software engineer and founder of Walkflow.

Walkflow gives builders a walkthrough that turns the site visit into a variation record, a site diary, and a scope of work. You talk while you walk. Each line in the draft links back to the photo or the moment you said it, and you edit it before it goes to the client.

The day gets rebuilt from memory

A builder's afternoon is often a lap of the site: a client who wants the window moved, a delay because the frame was short, a note about who was actually there. The lap is clear at the time. The write-up that night is a reconstruction.

Photos of the frame do not say who asked for the change. A site diary written the next morning misses the weather and the delay you mentioned once, on the way to the ute.

What to say on the lap

Walk the area that changed. Say the original scope, then the ask, then what you told them it would take. Name who was on site if it matters, and any delay you can see.

From that walk, Walkflow drafts:

  • A variation record of the out-of-scope ask
  • A site diary of who was there, what was done, and delays, only if you said them
  • A scope of work for what the job now includes

None of those is a signed contract. They are drafts you correct.

Send the lap, not a folder of photos

CompanyCam is built to hold the photos. Walkflow is built to hold the walk and the paperwork that comes out of it. See Walkflow vs CompanyCam.

The link you send needs no client login. Start with how to send a client a video walkthrough, and use the scope of work template if you want the headings before you record.
