Photos of the job, or the walk that writes the paperwork
CompanyCam stores job photos for contractors. Walkflow is for the walk itself: you record video, photos, and your voice, and it drafts a scope of work, quote items, a materials list, and a client update. Each line links back to the photo or the moment you said it, then you send one link.
What each one is for
CompanyCam is a photo record of the job. Crews use it to capture, comment, and find images later. That is a real job, and a lot of teams already depend on it.
Walkflow starts from the walk. You talk through the work while you record. The documents are a draft of what you said, and a line can open the moment behind it. The client does not need an account.
They answer different questions. "What did the site look like?" is a photo library. "What did we say this line meant?" is the walk.
At a glance
| Question | CompanyCam | Walkflow |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Photo record of the job | Recording of the walk, with documents drafted from it |
| Starting point | Photos you take and organise | Video, photos and your voice, recorded together |
| What you get at the end | A searchable set of photos | A scope of work, quote items, materials list and client update to edit |
| Link back to the moment | The photo itself | Each document line opens the photo or the words behind it |
| Client view | Depends on how you share photos | One link, no client login, with opens visible to you |
| Invoices and scheduling | Not the aim of the tool | Not included. Walkflow does not write invoices or run your schedule |

Where the paperwork shows up
A folder of annotated photos still has to become a scope, a materials list, or a client update. Walkflow drafts those from the recording. You edit them before they go out. It does not write a finished invoice, and it does not run your schedule.
If the thing you need later is the disputed extra, the timestamped walk is the point of when they say they never agreed to that. Builders feel that split on site; see the site walkthrough app for builders.
Sending is one link, described in how to send a client a video walkthrough. Prices are on the pricing page, in Australian dollars. This page does not guess what CompanyCam charges.
When a photo record is enough
If the job is mostly about proving what a site looked like on a given day, a photo library does that. Progress shots, before and after, a defect you want on file: a folder of annotated images covers it, and your crew already knows how to use one.
When the walk matters more
If the next step is a scope, quote items or a client update, you are going to turn what you saw into text anyway. Recording the walk lets that draft start from your own words. The photos come along as snapshots, each tied to the moment you took it.
Real situations
- A bathroom reno quote. Photos show the room. The walk captures what you said about the vanity, the waterproofing and what the client is supplying, and drafts the quote items from it. See how to write quote items for a bathroom reno.
- A progress update for a client who is off site. A folder of photos needs a message to explain it. A walkthrough carries the explanation with it. See how to send a client a video walkthrough.
- A disputed extra. A photo shows the window moved. The walk shows who asked and what you said it would take.
- A long-running job with many photos. A photo library is the right tool for finding last month's image. Keep it for that.
Using both
They are not exclusive. A team can keep a photo library for the general record and use Walkflow for the jobs that need paperwork out of the visit. Choose by what you have to produce at the end of the day.
Common questions
Does Walkflow replace a photo library?
It captures snapshots during the walk, but it is built around the recording and the documents drafted from it. If you rely on a photo library for the long-term record, you can keep it.
Do clients need an account to see a walkthrough?
No. You send one link and they open it. You can see when they have.
Does Walkflow write invoices?
No. It drafts documents like a scope of work and quote items for you to edit and send. It does not write a finished invoice or run your schedule.
